Pallet Collars
Pallet collars are hinged wooden frames that sit on top of a standard pallet to create an enclosed bin or box. Multiple collars can be stacked to increase the height of the enclosure, and the hinged design allows them to fold flat for efficient return shipping and storage.
Each collar adds approximately 8 inches (200mm) of height to the pallet enclosure. By stacking two, three, or four collars, you can create bins ranging from 16 inches to 32 inches tall — enough to contain everything from small parts and hardware to produce, textiles, and irregularly shaped items.
Pallet collars are particularly popular in European logistics systems and are becoming increasingly common in North American supply chains. They provide a reusable, collapsible alternative to wooden crates and corrugated boxes, reducing packaging waste and per-trip costs.
Our pallet collars are manufactured from kiln-dried pine or spruce with galvanized steel hinges. The hinges allow each side of the collar to fold independently, so the collar folds flat in seconds without tools. Each collar weighs approximately 12 to 18 lbs depending on size and lumber thickness.

Common Use Cases
Corner Protectors & Edge Protectors
Corner and edge protectors are one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to prevent product damage during transit. They distribute the pressure from strapping and banding across a wider surface area, preventing the strapping from cutting into cartons, boxes, or product packaging at the corners and edges.
Without corner protectors, polypropylene or steel strapping can crush carton corners, break seals on boxes, damage labels, and deform products — especially when tension is applied by strapping machines. The damage is often not discovered until the load reaches its destination, resulting in claims, returns, and customer dissatisfaction.
We carry both cardboard and plastic corner protectors in a range of sizes and profiles. Cardboard protectors are the most affordable option and work well for standard applications. Plastic protectors are more durable and can be reused multiple times in closed-loop systems.
Edge protectors run along the full length of a pallet edge (typically 40 or 48 inches) and are used to protect the sides of loads from forklift contact, pallet rack edges, and conveyor system impacts. They are particularly important for paper, glass, and other fragile products stacked on pallets.
Product Options
2" x 2" x 2" to 4" x 4" x 4", various lengths (2" to 48")
Most common option. Single-use, recyclable with cardboard waste.
2" x 2" x 40" and 2" x 2" x 48" standard
Protects full edge of pallet load from strapping and impact damage.
3" x 3" x 3" to 5" x 5" x 5", reusable
Heavy-duty, reusable in closed-loop systems. HDPE construction.
Slides over carton edge, various widths
Clips onto package edge without adhesive. Reusable up to 50 cycles.
2" x 2" to 6" x 6", self-adhesive option
Cushioning protection for delicate items (electronics, glass, ceramics).
Stretch Wrap & Shrink Wrap
Stretch wrap (also called stretch film or pallet wrap) is the most widely used method for securing loads to pallets. The elastic polyethylene film is stretched around the pallet load, and as it relaxes, it creates a tight, cohesive wrap that holds the load together and locks it to the pallet surface.
Proper stretch wrapping prevents load shifting during transit, protects products from dust and moisture, provides tamper evidence (the wrap must be cut to access the load), and can be used with opaque film for security when product visibility is a concern.
We carry both hand-grade and machine-grade stretch film. Hand-grade film is designed for manual application with a hand-held dispenser and is available in rolls from 12 to 20 inches wide. Machine-grade film is designed for use with automatic or semi-automatic stretch wrapping machines and comes in 20-inch rolls optimized for machine tension and speed.
The thickness (gauge) of stretch film is measured in microns or mils. Thicker films provide greater puncture resistance and load containment but use more material per wrap. We help customers select the right gauge for their load profile to optimize both protection and cost.
Available Products
18" x 1,500 ft, 80 gauge (20 micron)
Most common option for manual wrapping. Good for light to medium loads. Approximately 40–60 pallets per roll.
18" x 1,500 ft, 120 gauge (30 micron)
Thicker film for heavy or sharp-edged loads. Better puncture resistance. Approximately 25–35 pallets per roll.
20" x 5,000 ft, 80 gauge
For use with wrapping machines. Consistent tension and application speed. Approximately 150–200 pallets per roll.
20" x 7,500 ft, 47 gauge equivalent
Pre-stretched during manufacturing for less operator effort and more footage per roll. Approximately 200–300 pallets per roll.
18" x 1,500 ft, 80 gauge, black/white/blue
Conceals load contents for security. Black is most popular. Also useful for UV protection and color-coded identification.
3" and 5" wide, 1,000 ft, 80 gauge
Narrow film for bundling small items together or for spot-wrapping specific areas of a pallet load.
Pallet Covers
Pallet covers protect loads from rain, dust, UV radiation, and temperature extremes during outdoor storage and transportation. They are essential for any product that spends time on a loading dock, in an open trailer, or in outdoor yard storage.
We offer three primary types of pallet covers: polyethylene (PE) covers for basic weather protection, insulated covers for temperature-sensitive products, and reusable tarp-style covers for long-term outdoor storage. Each type comes in standard pallet sizes and can be ordered in custom dimensions.
For food and pharmaceutical logistics, pallet covers provide an additional barrier between the product and environmental contaminants. Many of our food industry customers use clear PE covers as a dust barrier even in indoor warehouse environments.
Insulated pallet covers are critical for cold chain logistics. They help maintain product temperature during loading, unloading, and short-duration outdoor exposure. While they are not a substitute for refrigerated transport, they provide crucial thermal protection during the vulnerable transfer points in the cold chain.

$15.00 – $45.00 eachSlip Sheets & Anti-Slip Sheets
Slip sheets and anti-slip sheets serve opposite but equally important functions in pallet load management. Slip sheets are smooth surfaces used as pallet substitutes (slipped under a unit load and handled with a push-pull attachment on a forklift), while anti-slip sheets are textured surfaces placed between layers to prevent load shifting.
Anti-slip sheets are the more commonly requested product. They are placed between each tier of cartons or products on a pallet to increase friction and prevent layers from sliding relative to each other. This is especially critical for loads where the boxes have smooth, glossy surfaces (such as shrink-wrapped cases) that tend to slide easily.
Without anti-slip sheets, tall pallet loads can shift, lean, or collapse during transit — causing product damage, safety hazards, and load rejection at the receiving dock. A single anti-slip sheet between layers costs just pennies and can prevent hundreds of dollars in damage claims.
We carry rubberized paper, textured cardboard, and silicone-coated anti-slip sheets in standard pallet sizes. For slip sheet applications, we stock heavy-duty fiber, corrugated, and solid plastic slip sheets that work with push-pull forklift attachments.
Anti-Slip Sheet Options

Strapping & Banding
Strapping (also called banding) secures products to pallets and bundles items together for transport. It provides a higher level of load security than stretch wrap alone and is essential for heavy, tall, or unstable loads that could shift or topple during transit.
We carry two main types of strapping: polypropylene (PP) and steel. Polypropylene strapping is the most common choice for general applications — it is lightweight, affordable, and easy to apply with both manual and automatic tools. Steel strapping is used for the heaviest loads and applications requiring maximum tension and break strength.
In addition to the strapping material itself, we stock the complete range of application accessories: manual tensioners, sealers, seal clips, buckles, corner protectors (to prevent strap damage), and combination tool kits. For businesses with high-volume strapping needs, we can source pneumatic and battery-powered strapping tools from our equipment partners.
Proper strapping technique matters as much as the material. Under-tensioned straps allow loads to shift, while over-tensioned straps can damage products and cartons. Our team at Bakersfield Pallet Co. can advise on the right strapping specification and tension for your specific load profile.

Dunnage & Spacers
Dunnage refers to any material used to protect, separate, cushion, or brace cargo within a pallet load or shipping container. Proper dunnage prevents products from contacting each other, absorbs vibration and impact during transit, and fills void spaces that would otherwise allow cargo to shift.
At Bakersfield Pallet Co., we provide wood dunnage (lumber cut to custom dimensions for bracing and spacing), foam dunnage (polyethylene and polyurethane foam cut to fit specific product profiles), and corrugated dunnage (die-cut cardboard dividers and spacers).
Wood dunnage is the most common type for heavy industrial applications. We cut 2x4s, 4x4s, and other lumber dimensions to the exact length needed for your pallet configuration. Wood dunnage is placed between pallet layers, around the perimeter of the load, or as cross-bracing within the pallet to prevent movement.
Foam dunnage is used for delicate or high-value products. We can cut polyethylene foam sheets, blocks, and custom shapes from a range of densities to match your cushioning requirements. For recurring orders, we can create custom foam inserts that are designed to cradle specific product shapes.

Pallet Labels, Markers & Tracking
Effective pallet identification and tracking is essential for modern warehouse operations. Whether you use barcodes, color-coded labels, RFID tags, or simple painted markers, having a clear and consistent pallet identification system reduces errors, speeds up receiving and putaway, and supports inventory accuracy.
We stock a range of pallet labeling and marking products, from simple adhesive labels and paint markers to barcode-ready label stock and RFID-compatible pallet tags. Our Operations Manager, Oakley Thorne, can help you design a pallet identification system that integrates with your existing warehouse management system (WMS).
For businesses with color-coded warehouse zones, we carry color-coded adhesive labels, pallet marker stakes, and color-coded stretch wrap that allows you to visually identify pallet contents or destinations from across the warehouse floor.
RFID pallet tracking is the emerging standard for large-scale logistics operations. Passive RFID tags embedded in or attached to pallets can be read by fixed or handheld scanners without line-of-sight, enabling automated inventory counts and real-time pallet location tracking throughout the supply chain.
