Sell Your Pallets
Got surplus pallets? We buy them. All grades, all conditions. Turn waste into revenue.
Sell Your Pallets to Us
Tell us about your pallets and we will make an offer.
Why Sell to Us?
If your business generates surplus pallets — from receiving shipments, seasonal overstock, or warehouse cleanouts — those pallets have value. Instead of paying for disposal, let us pay you.
We buy pallets in any condition. Grade A pallets command premium prices, but even broken pallets have value to us — we repair what we can and recycle the rest. Nothing goes to waste.
Bakersfield Pallet Co. has purchased hundreds of thousands of pallets from businesses across the Central Valley. Our buy-back program is designed to be as frictionless as possible: you contact us, we come pick them up, and you get paid. Garrett Caldwell founded this business on the principle that every pallet deserves a second life, and your surplus stock is the fuel that keeps that cycle turning.
We Come to You
Our pickup service comes to your location anywhere in the Central Valley. We handle the loading, sorting, and transport. You do not need to prepare, stack, or grade the pallets yourself — our crew takes care of everything on-site.
Fair Market Pricing
We price based on current market conditions and pallet grade. Transparent pricing with no hidden deductions, no processing fees, and no surprises. We provide a clear per-pallet breakdown before we load a single unit.
Recurring Pickup
Set up a regular pickup schedule for ongoing pallet surplus. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly options available. Recurring customers receive priority scheduling and consistent pricing locked in for the agreed service period.
What We Buy
Like new condition. Highest buy-back price. These pallets go directly back into our sales inventory.
Good condition with minor wear. Strong buy-back rate. May need light cleaning before resale.
Significant wear or damage. We still want them. Most go through our repair line for refurbishment.
Damaged beyond repair. We recycle for parts, boards, and wood fiber. Still has value to us.
How the Sell-Back Process Works
Selling your surplus pallets to Bakersfield Pallet Co. is simple and straightforward. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of what to expect from the moment you contact us to the moment you receive payment.
Initial Contact
Reach out to us through our contact form, visit our facility at 3240 Patton Way, Bakersfield, CA 93308, or get in touch by any method you prefer. Let us know what types of pallets you have, an estimated quantity, and your location. Photographs are helpful but not required.
Assessment & Quote
Based on the information you provide, we give you an estimated buy-back price. For larger loads or ongoing programs, we may schedule an on-site visit to inspect the pallets in person and provide a firm per-pallet price by grade.
Schedule Pickup
Once you accept the quote, we schedule a pickup at a time that works for your operation. Our crew arrives with the appropriate truck, sorts pallets by grade on-site, loads them, and provides a count and grade breakdown before leaving.
On-Site Sorting
Our pickup crew sorts your pallets into Grade A, B, C, and broken categories right at your dock. This transparency ensures you see exactly what you are being paid for. We use the same grading standards across every pickup for consistency.
Transport to Our Facility
Loaded pallets are transported directly to our yard on Patton Way, where they are checked into our inventory system. Grade A and B units go to our sales staging area. Grade C pallets go to repair. Broken pallets go to recycling.
Payment
Payment is issued based on the on-site count and grade breakdown. We typically issue payment within 3-5 business days of pickup via check or ACH bank transfer. Recurring customers can set up automatic payments on an agreed cycle.
Types of Pallets We Accept
We accept virtually all types of wood pallets. Here is a detailed list of what we purchase, along with any special notes for each category. If you have a pallet type not listed here, contact us — chances are we still want it.
Standard GMA Pallets (48x40)
Our most-purchased pallet type. Always in high demand. All grades accepted, from pristine to broken.
Non-Standard Sizes
42x42, 48x48, 48x45, 36x36, and other common non-standard dimensions. We buy these in all conditions.
Hardwood Pallets
Oak, maple, and other hardwoods. These tend to command slightly higher buy-back prices due to their durability and weight capacity.
Softwood Pallets
Pine, spruce, fir, and similar species. The most common pallet material. Accepted in all conditions.
Heat-Treated Pallets
Previously ISPM-15 treated pallets. The heat treatment stamp may be faded or absent — we accept them either way.
Painted or Branded Pallets
Pallets with company logos, color coding, or paint markings. We accept these unless they belong to a proprietary pool program (e.g., CHEP blue pallets or PECO red pallets are excluded).
Oversized / Heavy-Duty Pallets
Large format pallets, double-face pallets, and heavy-duty construction pallets. Buy-back pricing varies by size and condition.
Broken or Dismantled Pallets
Even pallets that are broken into pieces have value. We extract usable boards for repairs and grind the rest into wood fiber products.
What We Do NOT Accept
For safety, regulatory, and operational reasons, we cannot purchase the following:
Buy-Back Pricing Factors
Several factors determine how much we pay for your surplus pallets. Understanding these helps set expectations and can also help you maximize the value of your pallet inventory.
Pallet Grade & Condition
Grade A pallets (like new, fully intact) earn the highest per-unit price. Grade B pallets with minor wear earn slightly less. Grade C pallets with significant wear or repairs earn a reduced rate. Even broken pallets have recycling value.
Pallet Size
Standard 48x40 GMA pallets are in the highest demand and therefore command the best buy-back rates. Non-standard sizes may have slightly different pricing depending on current demand.
Volume
Larger quantities mean more efficient pickups for us, and we pass that savings back to you. Sellers with 100+ pallets per pickup receive volume bonuses on their per-unit rate.
Frequency & Consistency
Businesses that sell to us on a recurring schedule receive preferred pricing. Predictable supply allows us to plan inventory, which benefits both parties.
Location
Pickups within Kern County are standard. For pickups outside our primary service area, transportation costs may be factored into the buy-back rate, though we work to keep this impact minimal.
Market Conditions
Pallet prices fluctuate with lumber costs, seasonal demand, and regional supply. We adjust our buy-back rates to reflect current market conditions and always offer fair, competitive pricing.
Volume Requirements & Pickup Scheduling
We have no strict minimum quantity for selling pallets to us. You can bring any number of pallets to our yard at 3240 Patton Way, Bakersfield, CA 93308, during business hours and we will assess and purchase them on the spot.
For on-site pickup at your location, we ask for a minimum of 50 pallets per pickup to justify the truck and crew dispatch. If you accumulate pallets slowly, we recommend setting up a less frequent pickup schedule (monthly, for example) to build up a sufficient quantity between visits.
Pickup Schedule Options
Ideal for high-volume operations generating 100+ pallets per week. Consistent cash flow and no pallet buildup on your property.
Good for medium-volume operations generating 50-100 pallets every two weeks. Keeps pallet accumulation manageable.
Best for lower-volume operations or businesses with seasonal pallet surpluses. Allows time to build up a cost-effective pickup quantity.
For businesses with unpredictable pallet volumes. Contact us when you have a load ready and we will schedule a pickup within 1-3 business days.
Payment Process
We believe sellers deserve prompt, transparent payment. Here is exactly how our payment process works:
- On-site count and grade breakdown provided at time of pickup
- You receive a detailed receipt showing quantities by grade and per-unit pricing
- Payment issued within 3-5 business days via check or ACH bank transfer
- Recurring customers can opt for consolidated monthly invoicing
- Net-15 and net-30 payment terms available for established accounts
- No deductions, processing fees, or hidden charges — ever
The Business Case for Selling Your Pallets
Many businesses treat surplus pallets as waste — paying for dumpster space, disposal fees, or simply letting them pile up behind the warehouse. Selling those pallets instead transforms a cost center into a revenue stream. Here is the math.
Eliminate Disposal Costs
Hauling pallets to a landfill or paying a waste management service to remove them costs money. Depending on volume, disposal fees can run hundreds or even thousands of dollars per month. By selling to us, you eliminate that expense entirely.

Generate Revenue
Instead of paying to get rid of pallets, you get paid. The revenue may seem modest on a per-pallet basis, but it compounds over time. A warehouse generating 200 surplus pallets per month can turn that into meaningful annual revenue by simply selling them rather than trashing them.
Instead of expense for disposal
Reclaim Your Space
Pallet piles take up valuable floor space, create fire hazards, and make your dock area harder to navigate. Regular pickup service keeps your property clean, safe, and organized. Many of our customers report that reclaiming pallet storage space has improved their dock efficiency significantly.
